LACE ANCHORS, WHITE SHOELACES |
Skate shoes, Chuck Taylors and Vans style shoes come to mind when you start thinking of places to show off the Cross Lock Lace pattern. Because this is one of those shoelace patterns that really stands out, the shoe beneath it has to be able to blend into the background. With that being said, the shoe still has to look great and be able to complement the funky, fresh and fun look of the Cross Lock Lace.
Though the Cross Lock Lace can be done with rounded shoelaces, it works best with shoelaces that are flat. Their straight edges just make the crossed-out “x” seem a little bolder, which improves the overall feel of the shoelace design and makes them virtually unforgettable.
A high quality shoelace is necessary for durability and long wear. Our Xpand® shoelaces are made of durable 100% polyester fibers, and it comes in tons of colors from neutrals to neons. One shoelace is all that you need per shoe, so a single pair of laces can be used to complete one pair of Skate shoes, Vans, Chuck Taylors or other footwear models.
A shoe with 4-5 five eyelets is going to make the best canvas for the Cross Lock Lace pattern. Too many eyelets will make the “x” too skinny — too few will make the “x” practically unnoticeable or unidentifiable. Standard, metal or plastic eyelets will all work great with the Cross Lock pattern.
Finish off the Cross Lock Lace look using Lace Anchors®, a proprietary system of securing shoelace ends that requires no tying of bows. Because the ends of the shoelaces are not at the top ending together, tying a bow or knot will ruin the look of this pattern and cause comfort issues if stuffed into the shoe. This would undoubtedly lead to loosening of the tautness of the laces, as well as frustration at the feeling of having a shoe filled with extra lace ends.
Some of the interesting lacing designs for Cross Lock Lace include:
* Varying the way the “x” is criss-crossed by the straight lines of the design. Some lines can go under the “x”, while others can go over it. It’s a subtle way to be a bit different.
* Choosing a variety of hues for the shoelaces, and never being afraid to mix-and-match colors. It’s a perfect way to show off your support for a team or a cause.
* You can actually get creative and add multiple “x” to the pattern as shown in our double x shoelace design.
