ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS SHOELACE DESIGN

Shoes Required:

The Triple X Lace is one of the shoelace patterns that needs six eyelet holes on either side of the shoe in order to work. Footwear with too few eyelet holes simply won’t make the cut for the Triple X Lace technique, although they are perfectly suited for other cool lacing designs. A great shoe for the Triple X Lace is the Converse model, but of course there are many more.

Shoelaces Required:

To achieve the lace designs that are a hallmark of the standard Triple X Lace, you’ll need a flat shoelace. While any brand of shoelace can be used, it’s best to pick one that will hold up to daily wear and tear, as well as stay in shape. Unfortunately, shoelaces that come standard with most shoes won’t make the cut. However, Xpand® shoelaces come in brilliant colors, and can be shipped quickly and directly to your door.

Eyelets Required:

It’s important for a shoe to have six eyelet holes on either side in order to complete the Tripple X pattern. The eyelets can be made of any materials to achieve a Triple X Lace design.

Finishing Off:

There are two ways you can finish off a Triple X Lace design:

* Add a bow. This will involve tying and re-tying the shoe on a regular basis. It will also take away from the overall lace patterns by hiding some of the “x” marks.

* Use a shoelace anchoring system like Lace Anchors®. Lace Anchors® eliminate the need for bows at the top of shoes, and they add a level of security. The laces will not move from their original shoelace designs once the Lace Anchors® are in place.  This creates a simple, comfortable hassle free slip-on.

Additional Options:

For shoelace designs that use the Triple X Lace as a basis, try:

* Making a mirror image of the direction of the crisscrossing shoelaces on the shoes. For instance, if the left shoe is held next to the right shoe, the shoelaces should be reflections of one another.

* Add a bead at the center of each “x” in the Triple X Lace.

* Choose different shades of shoelaces for each foot.

* Wear a different color of the same style of shoe, but keep the shoelace colors the same. As an example, the right foot could be a red Converse with yellow laces — the left foot could be an identical, black Converse with yellow laces.
